I've been meaning to do this ride for a month now, cuz the first one got cancelled due to shoddy weather forecasting. It should be a lot of fun!

Date: Saturday September 27
Time: Meet at 9:00am
Location:Tim Horton's at Erin Mills Town Centre
Please bring a full tank of gas.

Make sure you have valid id to cross into the U.S. and back into Canada.

This will be a leisurely scenic ride with the "Anchor Bar" in Buffalo as the destination. For those who don't know, the Anchor Bar is the home of the original Buffalo chicken wings. Yum!

From the Erin Mills Town Centre, we'll take the 403 to the Burlington bridge, then make our way down to Ridge Rd., down 30 then to Balls Falls. Minidisco did the interpretive signs, so be sure to check them out. Also, there will be an entrance fee of ~ $7 or $8 per person. You can wait nearby if you don't want to join in.

From Balls Falls we'll take King to Effingham to Lundy's Lane then take a leisurely ride down Niagara Parkway via Clifton Hill (I don't plan to stop to look at Niagara Falls.) We'll cross over to Buffalo on the Peace Bridge in Fort Erie then lunch at the Anchor Bar (I'm hoping 1pm, but a lot depends on the border time, plus motorcycle rides tend to take longer than planned).

After lunch we'll hit an Autozone nearby to stock up on some oil, filters, etc. then ride home and hit Decew Falls. I also have to hit a VS. (Ask kewlkitty what that is).

I expect to be back by ~ 5 or 6pm and we'll be doing 350 - 400 km's and we will be using 400 series highways.

I didn't want to take the Rainbow or Lewston bridges because I've waited 1 hr before at these.

Update as of Wednesday Sept. 24:

• ETA at Anchor Bar ~ 1 - 1:30pm. Depends on border crossing of course.
• Don't plan to do much shopping stateside. Just wings, Autozone if anybody wants, and VS for Margot.
• Heated thongs - tried them but didn't like 'em. The heat is too localized and in the wrong places
• Here's a link to a map of the meeting place. There is no direct access from Eglinton. There are Gas stations on Erin Mills Parkway between the 403 and Eglinton you can fill up at.
• I'm still going if it's raining. Last time the forecast was doom and gloom (like several cm's of rain) but the day turned out beautiful. I'll wait until 9:30am at Tim Horton's at Erin Mills Town Centre and then leaving. I'm packing rain gear just in case.

I want to go but this will be my first official group ride (the most I have done is in a group of 4!) so I'm a little freaked out.

How long will the entire trip take? 9am to 6pm?

Wobbly- I would love to go but will be away at the cottage with a gaggle of g/f's.

I'm in. I'll be the official sweep seeing as my Fugly bike is similar in speed and "catch-up" characteristics to a little 2 fitty. But the brakes on the 2 fitty are better.

Glad to see there is lots of interest in this! Rose, I wish I could change the date but I'm lucky to book even 1 date! As it is, I'm missing a special parrot club event to do this ride.
