Hey everyone!
My name is Jason and I was directed to this forum by a girl I met last night named Alice. She has a Ninja 500 and we found out we bought our first bikes right around the same time. Alice -- are you out there??? =P
I'm looking forward to getting involved in a community of motorcycle enthusiasts. I bought my bike while living in California (about three months ago) and rode it back to Canada over the past month. It has been an incredible experience just owning a bike... and also seeing the unity amongst bikers across the continent. Whether sports-bikes, harleys or old beaters like mine... it's pretty cool to know you are part of something bigger... from the friendly hellos and advice.. to the words of advice or helpful hands when your bike is in jam.. to the universal PEACE sign as you pass on the highway.. it's pretty awesome.
So yeah... just thought I'd say whats up... and look forward to meeting more motorcyclists now that I'm back in the GTA. =)
Peace~!!
Jason
Thought I'd share some pics of my bike..

It's a 1982 Suzuki GS450.. an old beater but she runs like a champ.

I did a custom paint job with some spraypaint. This is the stencil from the gas tank.. the design is from a friend's sketchbook. The background is the Painted Desert in Arizona.

4000 miles across North America and almost no mechanical issues. I think I'm a Suzuki guy for life... =P
Wow when I saw your pics it took my breath away... Exactly what I have been shopping for...
Oh right and your bike is nice as well

Hey TWA, welcome! I started out with a bike similar to yours ... 1982 Honda CB450T. Yes, motorcyclists really are a brotherhood. I look forward to meeting you at one of our meets or rides. BTW, I saw Alice today, so she is around!
P.S. Watch out for that Englishj chap. He might try to feed you some fried bread or something.

Poltrojan, change your group from ditch rider to "Potty Mouth Ridah"
Jason, I look forward to meeting you. I'm hoping you'll come out to one of our Wednesday night meets.
Welcome aboard!!
My first bike was an '82 KZ440.
welcome aboard Jason! before I let anyone mess with may board name, it's W I R E D -BEANS
From California to Toronto? What brings you (back) here? We've had a west coaster move to Toronto, which is ironic, since some of us are trying to move to the west. . .
Welcome to TO, and, neat bike!
Hey everyone, thanks for the warm welcome!
It's awesome to be back in Toronto. As much as I've enjoyed learning to ride and the thrill of the open road... I'm also an avid snowboarder... so I'm actually looking forward to the snow (I heard I missed a big winter last year!).
California is incredible for biking.. and I hope to go back one day... but I'm also looking forward to seeing what South-Western Ontario has to offer. This is where I grew up so I'd love to get out and experience the beauty of our country. What are some of the best rides around here..? I was thinking Escarpment Country and maybe Georgian Bay area would be nice... but I really have no idea.
Do you guys meet every Wednesday night? How long do you ride for..? Where do you usually go? I'd be interested in getting together.. any other nights you guys meet?
And R1girl - the third picture was taken at Lake Mead in Nevada. It's actually a man-made lake created by the Hoover Dam (which was 5 minutes away in the picture).
Pleasure to meet you all. Peace~!
We don't actually ride anywhere on Wednesday nights, except to get to and from the restaurant. We all live ALL over Southern Ontario. We travel from all directions. We usually show up as ones or twos, but the ride home in small groups. Wednesday is more about the food and the people that show up.
