*Sigh* It's getting near that part of the year that JSL likes and I hate. White stuff making it harder to find the apex and covering the gravel that might be in your line. Sad

I want to circumnavigate Lake Superior, ride up to James Bay, and ride in and around Quebec City. I think this is material for my dreams for next year with closing the house and moving.

So where did you want to ride to but had to shelve for the season?
i'm pretty much satisfied with the following trips;

- Deals Gap / Dragon's Tail
- Bar Harbor, Maine.

Although now since I love far outgoing trips I plan to do;

- Newfoundland
- Banff, Alberta.

my should've this year would've been the "Cabot Trail"
If it wasn't for the f'ing minivan in Arpil, I would have done the BRP in May. I had also been thinking about a Cabot Trail trip for mid-summer, but flew to Vancouver instead.
After the sushi on Wednesday, I am thinking that I want to try for James Bay next year.
Cabot Trail and the Dragon and Friday the 13th are also on the list for next year.
I didn't get to go to explore some roads I wanted just south of the border, but then again, as long as the weather holds up I will be this weekend ...
Well due to some repairs that sprung up on me mid-season, I lost a total of a month of riding time.

Wanted to hit Tobermory again.
Didn't get it do Northern Ontario at all.

Next year I'm thinking James Bay would be a hilarious ride.
And if I don't go to Vegas with my friends, I may head to Banff.

Of course I have 3 weeks vacation, so there is no reason I can't do it all!
Although I did get a chance to head out to the Cabot Trail this year, the trip was supposed to include a more scenic and relaxed return trip through Maine, Vermont and NY State.

Ron, I am planning on going to James Bay in 2010 if you are interested.
why 2010? And yes I'm interested. Smile

Trips are out for next year since we plan on having our second child next year. Kind of hard to say, "Honey... I'm off for a motorcycle trip while you feel like crap and don't have the stamina to chase our 3 year old."

I have to plan this far in advance so that my holiday time doesn't get booked for me. Smile

also interested, tho i might be impatient!
I'm thinking of a James Bay trip as an extra long weekend during the summer of 2009.

Lets get a thread started for next year Rich, I'd like to do it then too, as I'm not having a child, but I'll ride with Tint again in 2010 and be his Sherpa guide. Smile Okay, not a Sherpa, but a KLR guide. That's a Kawi joke guys. You have to own one to understand. Hyper

The August long weekend looks the best. A little too late for black flies and a little too early for snow. After a little research, Jame did James Bay around that time. So did Sadrik. Chiller, et al did it late August and froze their family jewels.

But where will I put the three dogs? Smile

Also the backward facing car seat might not fit in a sidecar.

My plan for James Bay is to take the paved road on the way up, and return on the gravel road. I look forward to watching the 2009 Jame Bay trip unfold.
