Hey, how do you support the bike when removing the swingarm? You can't use a rod through the swingarm pivot, you can't use a stand & spools, the SV's got no centerstand. What do you do?
How about suspending it from the ceiling?
What about putting a jack or other type of stand under the motor?
why can you not use the rod thru the swing arm technique ? is your swing arm pivot solid ?
I want to remove the swingarm. Can't do that if there's a rod running through it.
I might build some sort of a frame from which to suspend the bike. Seems like real PITA though. Lots easier on an old bike with frame rails running under the engine, just flop it on a stand.
you can still do it just use 2x4's and build a stand that fits underneath your main frame spars right at the bottom where u're centre stand would be ...

i gotta ask why you want to take the swingarm off?
you could always do it this way ... "won't leave a mark" LOL

Just for something to do. While the rear wheel's off for a new tire I was planning on dismantling and lubricating the rear suspension linkage. I figured I might as well have at the swingarm bearings, while I'm at it. It's probably not worth the hassle. I can get to everything but that while the bike's on the swingarm pivot stand.
interesting.... bikes that i've owned before have grease nipples, does yours not? i could always lube the inside of the thing with the grease nipples...
I'm pretty sure that it doesn't. I'd better double-check before I take everything apart.
