splitting = riding with traffic between cars while traffic is moving.
filtering = going between cars stopped at a light.
ie: slipping to the front on the line at an intersection.
Don't think either is legal here.
Cagers sometimes get bent out of shape and try to block or worse knock you over when they think you're 'cheating'.
If you're gonna do it expect them to be stupid and try to kill you,
get past quickly but safely and take off.

Not a big fan of splitting, had too many close calls with cages that don't signal/check their blind spots or otherwise cutting me off, but I'll filter most of the time in stop and go rush hour stuff, especially on the hwy's when its a virtual ' parkway' but always cover the brake and expect someone to take offence that you're making better time then them....

dont filter seems kind of rude just wait for the light and then weave in between if you want...unless its an important situation. but splitting i have to say i do all the time in the summer even though i try to stay away from the major highways just because of the traffic. i have never been caught but i know its not legal. but if its 40 degrees out and your sitting there in traffic not only is your bike going to over heat most of the time but so are you. and any cop who pulls you over because u use the shoulder of the road when its 40 degrees out is just asking for trouble. personally i think you could fight it in court and win 100% of the time givin that its hot and humid not a cool breezy summer day. because its unsafe to be exposed to the heat for long periods of time...heat stroke...dehyration...and not to mention if you have any medical problems. i guess some cops would be nice about it and understand but some ingnorant because of the LAW and the nice cool air from thier AC.

I'm not a fan of either...I ride because I enjoy it, not because I'm in a rush. Besides...my kids like me to make it home...my 2 cents

Zac, it was taken a couple days ago in Bangkok. This is how they ride here. These Scooter Riders and Car Drivers scare the hell of me. Every now and then, you see some riding on the side walk. I heard that the licenses can be easily purchased if fail the exam (2 minute exam).
