I do...I find that I have to on my 250 because the revs get too high and my poor engine starts screaming at me. I have to shift quite often...when most of you are in 4th, I'm probably already in 6th.

I shift when my revs are up regardless of being in an intersection or not. (Besides, in Scarborough you want to get through them quicker to save bing clipped by cages turning into your lane.)

I tried to shift into 2nd+ gear before I make my trun or going into an intersection. So that I would have no chance of shifting into N from 1st when what I am intended is 2nd

Thats why I thought it would be better not to shift gears in the middle of the intersection. You have more power to get out unless you are at the red line.
I try not to shift gears while in the middle of the intersection, but hunny brought up a good point. You might not have a choice and need to shift gears as with the smaller bikes and some cruisers.
I always thought it was a lot safer not to shift gears in the middle of the intersection. It might be from driving a stick shift where it is easy to stall your car in second gear.
