Ever had a problem trying to put the bike into first gear at a full stop?

If you do, try the following...

While keeping the pressure on the shifter, slowly release the clutch till it engages. The bike should now pop into first gear.
This is a very good tips. I had the problem with the bike at Humber and the same problem with my first bike. Just learned from my friend early this morning and so happen I found it here as well. I wish I knew it sooner so I wouldn't embrass myself last night at a 4 way stop.
Hey Dean, does this mean your bike working again?

Ouch! I had trouble of a similar nature, and can suggest that you "double clutch" while in neutral. It will change where the gear teeth mesh for the next try, and you may find less grinding than the method suggested above, but both will work.
You can also roll the bike forward while keeping the clutch pulled and applying constant, downward pressure on the shift lever.
